[comp.sys.mac.programmer] running several programs in sequence

rick@gibbs.uchicago.edu (Rick Ernst) (02/22/90)

I'm interested in finding a way to run several programs in sequence without
having to double-click on the first, then double-click on the second, etc. I
believe that there was a shareware utility called "Sequencer" which did this,
but I have no way of finding a copy. If anyone out there can suggest a source
for this utility, or better yet, how to write something (in C or Pascal) to
accomplish the task, please e-mail to me.

On a related topic, is there any plan to introduce to the Mac operating system
some sort of scripting capability, of which the above sort of task would be a
trivial example? It seems to me that adding a new type of script event to
each application would make this type of thing quite easy, with each
application understanding its own set of commands, which would be published
for use by the user. Will System 7.0 have any such facilities?
