[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Spurious Interrupt Error

Joel.Quejada@f54.n382.z1.FIDONET.ORG (Joel Quejada) (03/17/90)

I have ran into this extremely frustrating bug in my
program. I had just finished writing my latest project
when, to test it, I put it on a floppy with a virgin
System file. Then I started getting System Error ID = 11
bombs! Under MacsBug it is called "Spurious Interrupt
or Uninitialized Interrupt Vector."

I know the bug lies in the difference between the two
systems I was using. The thing is, they are exactly
the same version, except the other one has a load of INITs in it.

My program does not use interrupts - I have noticed
though, that the crashes would go away if I turn the
sound off (my program plays several sound effects).
Also, the bug seems to go away when I have Virtual
ON. This led me to think that it was a memory problem,
but I have 5 megs of RAM - there should be no problem
even without Virtual running.

Anyway, I am getting extremely frustrated. Anyone
that can help, please post here!

Joel
