RE: Six Shooter Predated Gunsmoke?

In the mid fifties, I remember thoroughly enjoying a radio program
starring James Stewart(?) called 'The Six Shooter'. It was
similar in style and format to the TV series 'Gunsmoke', although
I thought it was a little more humerous. Does anyone remember
hearing it?
