I know this has been covered before, but silly me, I didn't have a color platform to work on, so I summarily ignored it. Question 1: Suppose I have a spiffo image or set images drawn in Studio 8 or some other swell paint program, and I clip the section I want out to the scrap or save it as a PICT. Is there an available tool to convert it into a C declaration for a PixMap or should I just let the program do that on the fly by loading the PICT, allocating enough space, doing a SetPortPixMap() and doing a DrawPicture()? Question 2: Suppose I have a PixMap created by some variation of the above process that looks huny-dorey with the System colormap. If I don't associate a colormap with the PixMap will it translate the data by value to an onscreen PixMap? (ie, the colors will look ok if the onscreen PixMap is the system PixMap).
