Can someone please give me a realistic assessment of my chances of getting Apple to donate a Mac II, IIx, or IIcx for hardware and software development at my University? Here in the College of Engineering, we do have IBM PC compatibles for hardware development, but I'd like to further the idea that the Mac is a better lab computer. I'd like to build some data acquisition hardware (with accompanying software) for the Mac, but I'd have to rely on Apple to donate a computer and development tools in order to have my project be realized. Perhaps somebody at Apple could give me some more info. I really want to initiate Mac hardware/software development at my University.
