First off, what version of 4D are you using?  2.0.11 is the latest.
Secondly, Tech Note #8 describes writing externals for 4D.  I believe it uses
MPW Pascal.  There is a file on CompuServe that discusses writing externals in
LSP... ACIUS is also releasing an EXTERNAL KIT which gives programmers all the
necessary information on writing externals for 4D 2.x.  To get a price on this
I would suggest calling ACIUS (408-252-4444).
