I know that all of you have been waiting to try your hand at some shareware and I have never seen anything like this before. The problem is my Mac at home. I have four people using it and they all like to have their own personal setup. This is a real pain. So, what I would like is something tha will let people change as much of the Mac's personality as possible from a stored record on disk of the users. Ideally, this would be done from a hierarchical menu on the Apple menu. Has anyone seen such a thing? Anybody interested in writing one or sending me some code snippets to get started with. I could research this, but I don't have the time. Any help or pointers are welcome. mkd

One simple way for a group of people to share a mac, and each personalize their environment is: buy a 45Meg removable cartridge drive, set the start-up device to the cartreidge, give each user their own cartridge. Ehman had cartridge drives at the Jan SF MacWorld show for $545 including one cartridge, and cartridges at $55 each. If you have a built-in hard drive, you can keep shared programs on it. -- -- David Phillip Oster - Note new address. Old one has gone Bye Bye. -- oster@well.sf.ca.us = {backbone}!well!oster
