We are currently looking for a way to network the many
micros around our campus and our VAX together. Kermit has been
suggested as a possibility. From the documentation that I received
on Kermit, it seems to me that the non-file-server model is a bit
complicated for the average non-technical user, what with having
to specify kermit commands both locally and on the remote system.
Do you find this to be so? What are your experiences with using
Kermit? Is it reliable?
Also, according to the documentation that I have, the
file-server version of Kermit is unavailable for UNIX. Is this
still true?
