From: Chuck McManis <MCMANIS@usc-eclc> The General Instruments AY-3-8470 256 command infrared remote control transmitter and AY-3-8475 remote control reciever can be connected to a keyboard array, and generate 8 bit codes which are transmitted through a fairly simple 3 transistor circuit. The reciver can be made is basically a connected to a infrared LED and amplifier. Depending on how good your amplifier is it is also rather simple. (GI uses a TDA4180 dual opamp amplifier, but a LM386 should work fine.) Any additional info is available through there distibutor. -Chuck -------
