I have recently been doing some programming in Alpha 1.02, the text editor that was just recently posted to info-mac. I like it a lot, but it has a bug that is driving me to distraction. Whenever my screen-saver (Darkness 2.02, what a great saver, YEAH!) kicks in and then I go back to work, the window title bar, the zoom box in the corner, the horizontal and vertical scroll bars are all dimmed, as if the window were in the background in MultiFinder. It is easy enough to retrieve the title bar and the zoom box, but there is NO way to get back the horizontal scroll bar that I can tell. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is there any way to patch the program to fix this? Other than that, it's a wonderful editor for a C programmer, but this one little thing is enough of an irritant that I will have to chuck the thing and go back to the MPW editor if I can't get it fixed. Now, for my next trick...I want to do some programming in C++ with MacApp (I'm allergic to Pascal). Should I bother buying "Programming in MacApp" or should I wait for the C++ version that is rumored to be released in August along with C++ final. I guess what I'm really hoping for here is a clue from someone in the know (like one of the authors, Larry Rosestein - hint, hint, hint :-)) as to whether there is a lot of overlap in the books or whether they are both useful in their own right. As long as I'm pestering everyone, any clues as to when C++ final will be released? APDA says "Call us in four weeks and maybe we can answer questions..." Thanks for any and all help and sorry for wasting the bandwidth if this is old news. David
