I often experienced similar problems. The documents were usually in
Microsoft Word format and when read in and converted by MacWrite II,
MacWrite would complain that "font #176" was missing (or was it 156?).
Anyway, on the latest Apple Developer CD-ROM ("Discy Business"), they
included a bitmapped font, "Compressed Garamond" or "Caramond" that
seem to fill this void.

I don't have the right to post it here, but perhaps someone at Apple
might see this and consider helping out the general population at large.
For those of you who have the CD-ROM, you will find the font in the
"TrueType" folder under the "Big Band CD-ROM Updates" folder under the
"System 7.0 Goodies & Updates" folder under the "Programming & Utilities"
folder.

Alternatively, your problem is all due to using a document on an Imagewriter
that was originally formatted with intended output to a LaserWrite IINTX.
Can't help you there.
