I am contemplating writing an application for the Mac that will need to generate and compile C code, and then execute that code. My questions are: (1) Is it possible to do this (a) under Mac OS 6.x (b) under A/UX 2.y (2) Does there exist a PD C compiler that I can use to create CODE(?) resources? If so, how complete is it (in terms of language features supported), and where can I get it? (3) Assuming I have compiled the C code, what is involved in getting it to execute from within my application? I am familiar (at a higher level) with the Mac OS, having written my share of applications; however, I don't know much about A/UX. I would appreciate any help/advice/comments that anyone can provide on the feasibility of this approach... -- -> Gerhard Mehldau Dept. of Computer Science internet: gerhard@cs.arizona.edu University of Arizona uucp: {cmcl2,noao,uunet}!arizona!gerhard Tucson, AZ 85721, U.S.A. at&t: +1 (602) 621-4632
