Well, I've given up on Aztec C which I've been using for a about 1 1/2 years. I couldn't figure out why a section of code wasn't working so I disassembled it - the compiler messed up "flag |= 512"! But, inserting a printf one line above caused it to compile correctly. I can't live with those sorts of problems. Now I am ready get MPW C or C++. Do I have to join apda to get them? What is the cost? What is included? Thanks for the help. Jim

For which? Currently, to get MPW C++ you do have to join APDA, as it is not yet a released product. To get just MPW C++, you need to buy the MPW C bundle ($475 ?) and then get C++ on top of that -- about $175. If you join APDA, you can get a disc called ETO -- esentials tools and objects. It will be shipped to you quarterly for a year, and includes the latest versions of MPW, SADE, ResEdit, MacsBug, C, C++, Pascal, MacApp, etc. If you don't own any of these things, it is about $1000 for the first year, then it is $300 per year to keep current. If you already own all of MPW, it is only $300/year. If you don't own parts, you must buy them in order to get ETO. Anyway, if you get the MPW C bundle, it includes the shell, Asm, C, (a whole horde of tools), ResEdit, MacsBug (asm debugger), and Sade (source debugger). +C -- Cory Kempf I do speak for the company (sometimes).
