Has anyone ever heard of a "tiny", reduced dialect of SNOBOL4 (or anything resembling SNOBOL) that will run on a personal computer i.e., 8 bit micro and under 64 (better yet, <32) KB RAM plus 16-32K ROM? Looks like a lot of us computer professionals are interested in getting our favorite college/grad school/work languages onto our home computers -- LISP, Pascal, etc. Well here's another. I don't necessarily need true SNOBOL, would settle for a set of pattern-driven string decomposition ffunctions. But I know that SNOBOL4 has a lot of features that are not needed for most uses and which clearly add a lot to the size & slowness of the language implementation. Brave types can try mailing to me, else post to net. thanks, mike k
