Several people have already flamed to me about my remark on the AT&T 3B2 processor being a re-microprogrammed 68000. That was what I was led to believe by some technical support types in Denver, but I'm quite willing to believe that the 68000 will not be used in any form in the new micros or other devices. Maybe someone can tell me if I'm wrong about something else. I was told (I think) that the 3B2 processor will be used in the new micro and also in the new AP32 application processor for the System 85. The new version of Un*x to run on the micros was called Oryx-Pecos (or something that sounds like that) and is updated to be more "user-friendly" and application oriented. Probably smaller as well. As I understand it, one of the new micros will be able to run MS-DOS as well. rumors, rumors, rumors,... -- skip addison {allegra, rlgvax, akgua, emory}!gatech!skip
