I'm writing a PC archive viewer which supports Mac, Amiga, and IBM archive formats for our BBS, which accepts files from all three platforms. The StuffIt viewer is mostly working, except that the file format I've been working from is very old. It doesn't include specifications for folder storage. My understanding is that there are two ways to store folders: file-by-file and as hierarchically-maintained folders (or something like that) that only look like one file in the .SIT directory. The description I have alludes to the file-by-file method, but the routines I wrote based on that list don't work. Does anyone know where to find the file format for 1.5.1, including folders? Note: I am *NOT* asking for the format for StuffIt Deluxe (doing so, it seems, is a darned good way to start a net.flame.war :-) ). I just want good ol' fashioned 1.5. Any emailed responses would be appreciated. (I don't normally read this group; however, I do read .misc and .apps... unfortunately, they aren't really what I need here.) -- ...
