A couple of days ago I posted an article on creating custom icons for Macintosh applications using ResEdit 2.0b2. (If you missed the posting and would like to see it, I would be happy to mail it to you.) Several people have commented that ResEdit 2.0b2 is not terribly easy to get. Fortunately, there _is_ a solution for those of you who only have ResEdit 1.2. There are patches available that give ResEdit 1.2 better BNDL and MENU editors. They were written by Alan T. Goates, and the BNDL editor is almost exactly like the one found in ResEdit 2.0b2. I don't remember where I got this; I thought it was from sumex-aim, but it doesn't seem to be there. I'll mail these patches to sumex-aim; in the meantime, if you'd like them you can drop me a line & I'll mail you a copy. Those of you who only have ResEdit 1.1 are still out of luck, because the patches crash this version of ResEdit. ___\ /___ Greg Anderson ___\ /___ \ \ / / Advanced Technology Group \ \ / / \ /\/\ / Apple Computer, Inc. \ /\/\ / \/ \/ greggor@apple.com \/ \/
