...have been posted to comp.sources.mac; I suppose they'll actually show up there whenever Roger Long gets dug out. DataPak sells a package for $300 that replaces TextEdit. Among other enhancments, it provides multiple style, font, and fontsize records, but is mainly interesting for the lack of a 32K textsize limit, and much better performance. The intent of this posting is to painlessly integrate WS into the TCL -- if you're using CStaticText and CEditText, you can no just use WSStaticText and WSEditText. The package can be ordered from DataPak Software 9317 N.E>Highway 99, Suite G Vancouver WA 98665 (206) 573-9155 (800) 327-6703 (order-line) They also offer add-ons to the basic package to provide Rulers, and to use temp files on disk to edit text files that don't fit in RAM. I haven't used either of the add-ons. WS is reasonably Script-Manager compatible: it does not handle mixed Left-to-right and R->L selections correctly, and it apparently doesn't handle 16-bit characters (Kanji and the like) very well. I've received an update and lots of mailings in the three months I've had the package, all unsolicited by me. =Ned Horvath=
