We are getting pretty close to shipping our product and I have a few questions for those of you using or familiar with MacApp and InsideOut. 1) Does anyone have any general strategies/recipies for memory managment while using InsideOut? 2) What are you doing with the temporary and permanent reserves? 3) How are you handling PermAllocation when making InsideOut calls (especially with records that have handle fields)? Right now, we make calls with PermAllocation off hoping that we don't run out of temp memory during InsideOut 'segment' loading and handle allocation. Any suggestions? 4) The InsideOut documentation says that 2 (or 3, with debugging) IOCD resources should be preloaded and locked. However, the v1.2.1 resource file has all 'segments' purgeable. Any suggestions as to which can be made preload/locked to improve heap management and performance? 5) Is there anyway to intelligently remove IOCD resources if we know we are not going to be using parts of InsideOut (like reorganization, etc.)? Any comments would be greatly appreciated Greg. -- uucp: ...{spsd,zardoz,felix}!dhw68k!finnegan InterNet: finnegan@dhw68k.cts.com --------------------------------------------
