[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Macsbug on a IIci

millsm@NeXTnet.ccs.csus.edu (12/04/90)

Hello,
I have been trying out to get Macsbug to work on my IIci. It works
fine on my SE at work. I am using Macsbug V6.0 and the manual says
it works fine with the Mac II family. The system loads it like it
should but when I try to bring it up with the Interupt key it
re-runs the finder, the next time I press the NMI the computer
ignores it. I have tried all monitor settings, shut off all inits,
still no good. Is version 6.0 of Macsbug incompatible with the
  IIci? What should I do?
Matthew

I have version 6.2b1 of MacsBug and it works alright on a IIci. There are
some strange things it does. Yesterday, I was tracing through a program and
noticed some lines that would appear and disappear when the return key was
pressed to trace but it didn't interfere with the operation. I believe I read
somewhere that the problem with earlier versions is 32 bit QD. Supposedly you
can cause the same trouble on a IIcx with 32 bit QD installed. The only place
that I know this version of MacsBug is available is AppleLink.
