[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Think C object extensions subset of C++?

mjohnson@riglow.acs.calpoly.edu (Mark S. Johnson) (12/13/90)

Neglecting Mac-specific features (for building interfaces, etc), is
Think C a clean subset of C++? That is, if I'm careful, can I write
O-O code in Think C and port it to, say, g++ on a Unix box and have it
run successfully? Does it make sense to try?

I'm a C++ novice (I'm slowly working through Lippman right now) so
short, sweet answers are preferred, if possible.

My motivation for all this? I like what I hear about Think C and I
want to learn (and then do some real programming in) C++. I can't
afford MPW C++.

What I REALLY need is Think C++ 1.0 or Turbo C++/Mac :-) :-) :-)

Thanks in advance for any help...please email, I'll summarize.

It's almost clean and it will port up w/o too much trouble.
