Neglecting Mac-specific features (for building interfaces, etc), is Think C a clean subset of C++? That is, if I'm careful, can I write O-O code in Think C and port it to, say, g++ on a Unix box and have it run successfully? Does it make sense to try? I'm a C++ novice (I'm slowly working through Lippman right now) so short, sweet answers are preferred, if possible. My motivation for all this? I like what I hear about Think C and I want to learn (and then do some real programming in) C++. I can't afford MPW C++. What I REALLY need is Think C++ 1.0 or Turbo C++/Mac :-) :-) :-) Thanks in advance for any help...please email, I'll summarize. mark -- Mark S. Johnson mjohnson@stn9.calpoly.edu (129.65.19.9)

It's almost clean and it will port up w/o too much trouble. -- Uucp: ...{gatech,ames,rutgers}!ncar!asuvax!stjhmc!56.12!Chris.Gehlker Internet: Chris.Gehlker@p12.f56.n114.z1.fidonet.org
