I just finished typing in the "Special Effects" in the C Workshop column of the November 1990 MacTutor. Everything compiles OK under Think C, but the source needs the function MakeRgn() that the author says "...MakeRgn() was taken from Ted Cohn's article 'Convert PICTs to Regions', Best of MacTutor, Volume V, page 11. A similar call is in 32-bit QuickDraw and is documented in TN #193." I whipped out TN #193, only to discover that Apple didn't supply any source code for their function, only some inline definitions for users of the 32bit QD. I'm using a Plus, and I don't want to install the 32bit QD Init (unless someone can convince me that it would be worthwhile for black and white macs to use it). I'd really like to try that nifty dissolve function that I spent a couple hours typing in, so would some kind soul send me the MakeRgn() code or equivalent (If that's legal, of course! Likewise, if I ever can finish this project I'm willing to email copies to anyone who wants it). % t-o-m s-h-o-r-e-s "It's fallen and I can't get it up" --That old lady's husband
