I want to be able to monitor mouse motion, as opposed to the cursor position. I want to have something like a circular dial whose hand is rotated by moving the mouse (say) upwards, but which doesn't stop when the cursor reaches the top of the screen. The cursor will be hidden while this is happening, so there won't be any confusion about that. I don't want to just use the cursor position, first because it wouldn't wrap around, and second because it would require changing the cursor position when the dial starts up, since I want it to start up centered, and the cursor might be at one edge of the screen when it starts up. Where might I find the information I need for this? Specifics about the mouse device driver is what I need, I would guess, but I can't seem to find any. At worst I can use Chris Muir's SetMouse code from the UMPG to center the cursor at startup, but that's not the solution I'd prefer, and not just because according to Apple it would be a Bad Thing. Can anyone suggest a better solution? I'll summarize email responses, if anyone asks me to. geoff -- geoff george geoff@remvax.gatech.edu (my vax) or gt0657c@prism.gatech.edu (a touch of warmth from GaTech OCS) "Ordinary f---ing people - I hate 'em.
