Is there a way for an application (...) to have more than one BNDL used by the desktop? I've been hacking with ResEdit on copies of Stuffit and Compactor. Ideally, I'd like to have .SIT files show up in the finder with their normal icon, but double clicking one would launch compactor. You can't just add an item in Compactor's BNDL to tell the desktop that it creates files of type 'SIT!', because when you dubl click a Stuffit file the Finder (presumably) just looks at the creator of the stuffit file, which is 'SIT!' so it launches Stuffit. But why can't I add another BNDL to Compactor, so in the desktop it would have two creators, one of type 'CPCT' for the normal .cpt files, and a creator of 'SIT!' to launch Compactor when I dublclick a .sit file? I've tried doing this (while deleting the appropriate 'SIT!' file type from Stuffit's BNDL) and rebuilding the Desktop (well, actually the Desktop Manager, if it matters...) but now my SIT! files have no icon at all. If it is possible, perhaps I or someone else could whip up a program to do the same for other situations (like MacWrite files launching Word). % t-o-m s-h-o-r-e-s "It's fallen and I can't get it up" --That old lady's husband
