Could you please send me some info on that speech chip. I purchased one about a year ago but it was $50.00. I would like to get some more so if you have an address I would apreciate it. Thanks in advance Scott Miles ihnp4!zehntel!zps!digger

From: Chuck McManis <MCMANIS%USC-ECLC@sri-nic> (Sorry about the misspellings) I recently completed a speech synthesizer based on the General Instruments SP0256-AL2 for less than $20. This chip is identical to the one Radio Shack is selling except that instead of having the numbers 0 thru 9 programmed in it has 64 allophones for unlimitited vocabularys. However I have not found any decent articles on Word synthesis with allophones. As I am currently attempting to create a dictionary of words, I was wondering if anyone else had set up this chip and developed some words? My hit and miss attempts are usually sucessful but the rate of 5 words per session is a bit slow. Pointers Appreciated... --Chuck -------
