I am using a Tecmar Graphics Master to drive an Amdek 310A monochrome monitor, and I am having some problems apparently associated with the timing of the Amdek. The Tecmar board works fine with the IBM mono- chrome monitor, and the Amdek monitor seems to work fine with the IBM monochrome adaptor card, but when they are used together, there are several extra retrace lines on the top of the screen. (These are bright lines in the top 2 inches of the screen that slant down from right to left.) Does anyone know the story on these? The technical support man at Tecmar said that several people who had talked to him were using the Amdek monitor with no complaints. The technical support man at Amdek didn't know anything about it, tried to tell me how to fix the monitor circuitry, and decided he couldn't figure out the schematic. The saleswoman at ComputerLand (where I bought the monitor) finally said, "The Amdek monitor works ONLY with the IBM monochrome adaptor. It doesn't work with the Hercules or any other graphics card. So, what's the truth? (Personally, I believe ComputerLand. I played with reprogramming the 6845 CRT controller on the Tecmar board, and there is no combination of values that I could find that worked.) -- "Roy J.
