Greetings. I am looking for an alternative to TextEdit. Since, TextEdit requires the maximum size of the data to be 32k, it becomes very restrictive. I have used TrackEdit --- written by Martin Minow and it appeared in an issue of MacTutor --- but as the author said it is too slow. Moreover, it has some bugs in it as well. Martin Minow had suggested that there are commercial packages as alternatives to TextEdit available. He said that they are listed in MacTutor. Unfortunately the University I am at currently does not get MacTutor. I was wondering if anyone had used any of these packages, or have any suggestions on how to get around the 32k limit of TextEdit.
