In a recent correspondence to an associate, I made reference to Gertrude
and Hecliff.  The response was something like "who?".  Apparently I had
dated myself in this reference and it seems that this subject would make
a good trivia question.

Soooooo, I submit to the net:

		Who were Gertrude and Hecliff?

Answers will only be accepted when accompnied by an actual Gertrude and
Hecliff joke.  No phonies and no substitutes please.

That's Gertrude and Heathcliff, two seagulls made famous by
Red Skelton.
