I have an Atari 800 with a Rana drive and printer for which I would like to expand my horizons into the terminal scene. Question: is there any public domain terminal program for the Atari out there anywhere in netland or does anyone have experience changing one of those numerous Apple 6502 terminal programs into an Atari 6502 progaram? Thanks in advance for any help. Kevin Rappold

Sir: I seem to recollect one directory on the old MC CPM archives, and now at SIMTEL20:MICRO on Atari software, and I believe it included some sort of modem or file transfer program. I didn't look at any of the files myself (no dealing in Ataris), but maybe worth a glance... Good luck. SGM Kirschbaum, CAMO

From: Keith Petersen <w8sdz@brl> There is an Atari Basic terminal and file-transfer program available in the public domain. You can get a copy from SIMTEL20 via FTP. It's in the MICRO:<CPM.ATARI> directory. There are three files: AMODEM.4BAS AMODEM.4DOC and AUT850.BAS I don't have a hard copy of the directory handy right now so the file names may be slightly different from those. Do a DIR to find what's there. --Keith

COMPUTE magazine published a terminal program for the ATARI in January 82 (?). The program was called JTERM, it supported upload/download of files that could fit in memory. It was designed to work at 300 baud, and used the 850 expansion interface.
