Hey folks!
Sorry about the last blank posting. . .
I am about to start my first project doing MIDI programming on the Mac. I
have been reading Volume V of Inside Mac on the Sound Manager and had a few
questions.
1) In all the places I see them discuss how nicely the Sound Manager can be
used to send data out the serial port, never do I see it mentioned which
serial port, or if this is configurable. Anyone know what the deal is here?
2) A lot of this chapter seems tentative. Anyone know if it is accurate?
3) When it lists all the commands that can be used with the MIDI output
modifier, none of them seem to play a note. I was kinda hoping to play
at least one note at some point :-) Did I miss something?
Any advice, sample code, anything people might have on this would be helpful.
Thanks!
Dave Pawson

I should set up a batch job to post one of these every week. Use Apple's MIDI Manager for MIDI. I've put some sample MIDI Manager code on the archive machine used for the THINK C mailing list (icsd.uci.edu or somesuch). -- Nick Rothwell, Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science, Edinburgh. nick@lfcs.ed.ac.uk <Atlantic Ocean>!mcsun!ukc!lfcs!nick ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ "Theres menners f' yer!
