[comp.sys.mac.programmer] How to mark hierchical menu?u

In using hierarchical menus, I have attempted check mark the item that is the

CHECKITEM, the submenu no longer functions (it no longer pops up on the screen).
Any help on where I'm going wrong would be greatly appreciated.,owever,

From Inside Macintosh V (p. 236):

	When the itemCmd field has the hex value $1B, the
	itemMark field contains the menuID of the associated
	^^^^^^^^
	hierarchial menu.  (These two fields are used because an
	item with a submenu never has a check mark...)
