[comp.sys.mac.programmer] HELP: Think C

jp48+@andrew.cmu.edu (Jonathan Pace) (02/09/91)

I'm supposed to write a program with my professor and I just got Think C dumped
in my lap. I've programmed Fortran & Pascal, but NEVER in C. He insists.

Can some kind sole out there send me some well documented source code written
with Think C 4.0. I've found the best way to learn is to look at well written
code. I can hack the language, it's the visual interface I've never used
before.

All help is extremely appreciated.

Here is some well-written code for you: the TCL's. Step your way through them
and you will master C and the visual interface far faster than you can simply
by looking at structured code from the Jurasic Age.

Run, don't walk, to your nearest book store (or library) and pick up a copy
of the Macintosh Programming Primer (get volume 2 also if you can afford it).
These books are very good intoductions into how to program the Mac, and they
are targeted for Think C.

Another source is the series in MacUser for the past year called "Power
Programming". You library should have this. The source code from the
MacUser series is available by FTP, check sumex.

On final hint is to pick up a copy of the USENET Mac Programming paper
that was put togather about a year ago. It is available by FTP, check
at sumex for a copy (it is archived their in 2 parts).
