I am posting this for a friend, so if the technicalities are slightly wrong, my apologies! He is using the MPW, and has a program that he needs to use standard console type I/O with. If compiled as a shell tool, then everything is OK. When compiled as a stand-alone program, all he gets is a dialog box saying that console I/O is not supported in stand-alone mode. Therefore, what is needed is either a startup routine, or a library to provide the equivalent of printf, scanf etc for a stand-alone MPW C program. He has already attempted using Think-C, but apparently the include files are different, and he wants to stick with MPW. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, preferably by E-mail as I am not a regular reader of this conference. Ron ACSnet: sw@goanna.oz.au UUCP: ...uunet!munnari!goanna!sw
