could the problem be solved by using a drive cleaning disk flipped in the drive? If used semi-frequently if seems it should solve most or all of the problems related to flipping disks. James Hutto

The problems lie in the diskettes themselves, specifically the 'lint-free' liner which catches dirt as the disk spins. ZZ
