I remember reading a few months ago about a bug in the memory manager of the "32-bit clean" ROMs which caused memory allocation on these machines to be significantly slower than their predecessors I have witnessed the problem with the program on which I am working--loading time on a Mac IIcx is about 30 seconds, and on a Mac IIci is about 2 minutes. Thus, I have given away my IIci and am now using a IIcx. However, I also remember seeing information about an INIT that fixes the problem, but the INIT was not available to the general public. Is it available now? If not, is there a way I could become a beta-tester? The speed increase would certainly help myself and, more importantly, my colleagues (who are stuck with pokey Mac IIci's). Thanks in advance for any information. --Willy Walker ww0m+@andrew.cmu.edu
