[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Did you get your developer CD?

mxmora@unix.SRI.COM (Matt Mora) (03/01/91)

I received my Developer mailing in the mail last week but there
was no CD in it. Did you (the other developers who get the mailings)
get a CD with yours? This is the second time that I didn't receive a
CD.

Whats going On?

I did'nt get mine either! A quick bit of e-mail on AppleLink to DEVHOTLINE
got a response of they'd send it out right away; no further explanation of
what went wrong. I'll wait 1 week for it to arrive and if I don't see it
I write a nastier mail message to Apple I guess.

I got mine just fine. However my Feb. mailing arrived in March.

By the way if you want to mail me a blank CD I can make a copy
for you.

FYI - The last Developer CD I received arrived last week, was titled
"Gorillas in the Disk", and is number VI in the series.

Well, you become an Apple developer, and they send them to you about
once a quarter. They might come as part of the Higher Education mailings
as well, although I'm not sure.

We didn't get ours either. We heard that it was out and called
Developer Services; they acted confused but said they would get us one
right away. They did.

(For some reason, though, "Gorillas in the Disc" contains ancient
versions of MacsBug and resEdit; we've had newer ones for months.)

On the other hand, the press says that System 7.0b4 was sent out weeks
ago, and we haven't gotten one. Guess it's time for another phone
call.

Also, E.T.O. #3 was supposed to ship at the end of February. Again,
we haven't gotten one.

I haven't seen the February issue of "develop", either. Apple sent me
a notice in January that advised me they were slipping publication by
a month. Apparently even that wasn't enough, because they've missed
their new "late February" mailing date, too. A while back I also
received a notice that my APDA order for technical notes was "back
ordered".

Got mine last Friday. If they've missed it, it was only by a matter of days.
Granted that it still does not include the much-needed "DO NOT BEND"
wrapper (contrary to what one of the letters (not even mine, no less)
requested, and to which was responded that it would have one)...
Fortunately, the CD survived this time around (Tech Note Stack 2.0 and all).
