Recently an article was posted to net.video and net.trivia concerning Lou Grant and incidenltly whether he might be able to get backing from an independent TV network. There is a half a gateway from net.video into an arpa video tech oriented list; since the half feeding arpa->usenet isnt in place, usenet didnt see the irrelevancy complaints. Due to these complaints, that gateway has been shut down, and the other half delayed, until there exists a technically oriented video newsgroup. Shades of net.music/records/etc! As far as I can tell that one hasnt been solved either, and there is an arpa audio hardware list as well. If we could solve this hardware/software problem, both lists/groups would benefit. Perhaps net.video and net.audio could be hardware groups, and net.tv or something could be for programming (along with net.music). Andrew Knutsen, decvax!ucbvax!menlo70!sri-unix!knutsen
