[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Hacking Apple's SCSI Driver

kent@sunfs1.camex.com (Kent Borg) (03/26/91)

Just about the time someone posted a simple hack that would allow
Apple's HD SC Setup disk formatting utility to allow it to format SCSI
drives other than the ones sold by Apple, Apple had to go and change
it.

The old scam was easy, just zero out the pstrings that they were
checking against and you would fall through in a good way.

The new program uses cstrings of all things. When I started hacking,
I didn't spot the obvious, got lost, and gave up.

Anybody found a good way to do it?
