I am about to attempt a _really_ stupid thing, but since I don't have anything really important on my calendar for the new few weeks, I'm gonna do it. My roommate and I have been aching to program a stupid little da, just to get some experience and so I can get my name in the sumex archive :). Like I said, a DA. The only problem is that I really don't have much of a clue on how to write Mac programs, and my knowledge of writing DAs is non-existent, it's just a few scraps that I have gleened from the Think C and Pascal manuals. I write code decently, it's just the actual Mac code that worries me. To make matters even worse, I don't own Inside Mac, since I am but a poor college student. Yes, I know, writing Mac code without the Bible should be impossible, but I have access to Prototyper. Thank God for small miracles! So what I am asking for, fellow Mac'ers, and human beings, is the basic code for DA's. I heard of something called Generic DA in the abstract file of the DA dir at sumex, but it wasn't there. Does anyone have it? Is it what I am looking for? I just need the basic skeleton for the DA. I saw some funky stuff like handling 5 conditions, and something like RemoveA4 at the end. See? I don't know what I'm talking about. So if you would kindly send me some code, or a place to find some code, I would be most greatful. I would even take the code of a full DA, and trim out what I don't need. Pascal or C, but a preference on C. Please? Thank you very much. | John Taggart Gorman Jr. | "I'm a no rust build up man myself." | | -Christian Slater | jtgorman@caslon.cs.arizona.edu | in 'Heathers'
