[comp.sys.mac.programmer] appletalk sample code requested

joel@Neon.Stanford.EDU (04/03/91)

Can anyone point me in the direction of some appletalk sample
code? I am writing a client/server application, and would
like to use ASP, but ATP would be fine.

Thanks

If you can get your hands on the DTS sample code, they have a sample
that gets the zone list. In Phase 1 AppleTalk this requires sending
ATP requests to the router. So you might want to look at this code
to see how making ATP requests works.

Also, if you can get the latest DEVELOP magazine (& CD-ROM) there
is some nice ADSP code. It's plenty to get you going with ADSP.

ASP is more problematic. Apple doesn't provide an interface to the
server side to ASP so it's real hard to use it for both you client
and server. I'd recommend using ADSP instead.
