I am trying to read and write to the modem port to control a laser disc. I can open the RAM serial driver OK (I can't get the ROM driver open) and I can even send stuff out the output port, but I have trouble reading stuff from the input port. In particular, the Mac hangs when I try to read the input port. I believe the problem is with the number of desired characters since the read will work at times. When I do a SerGetBuf I always get a count of 0 even when I can read the port. Any suggestions or example code would be greatly appreciated. Ward Page Naval Ocean Systems Center Kaneohe, Hawaii
