[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Job Opening at Apple

marc@Apple.COM (Mark Dawson) (04/19/91)

We have been trying to fill a job position and are looking for a "few good
programmers". Our group develops diagnostic programs for service providers
and end users. We cover all the Apple Macintosh CPUs, peripheral cards, and
disk drives. Because we do everything from designing the chip tests (requiring
the ability to read schematics) to writing the interface, a mixed skilled set
is desireable. What we want (in somewhat of an order of priority):

>Ability to read schematics--so you can write the tests for the chips, cards,
  etc.
>knowlege of 680x0 and C--these are the main languages we use.
>good communication skills--we deal with a lot of other groups and so would
you, so you need to be able to be able to represent our group well, both
in meetings and via specs that you write.
---- lesser wants ---
> MPW experience
> Toolbox experience
> C++
> MacApp
> network experience (driver-level)
> Ability to get along with people at the cutting edge of sanity.
-----
> Billards experience (no pool sharks, though)
> Sports: Ultimate Frisbee, tennis, table-tennis, and volleyball
> Culture: Simpson's, Monty Python, science fiction, and violent films
("Total Recall" and "Out for Justice" were both big hits here).

Its unlikely that anyone has the exact mix of skills we want (none of us do,
we have some generalists and some specialists). But if this description
interests you, and you think you qualify, drop me a line. You can either
send your resume to me (marc@Apple.com or on Applelink:Dawson.m) or contact
me and I'll send you the information on where to mail it (I don't know the
official job # or the personel person in charge, off hand ).

Thanks,

Mark
