[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Old MacPaint won't run on modified 128

aj293@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Keith C. Sykora) (04/26/91)

I have an very old copy of MacPaint.
It runs satisfactorily on a friends unmodified 128 Mac.
I have a modified 128 Mac.
The previous owner installed 128K ROMs.
RAM has not been expanded.
The old MacPaint which runs on my friends machine won't run on mine.
I get a message indicating insufficient memory.

WHY?

Any ideas about circumventing this?

I'm cross posting this on comp.sys.mac.apps and comp.sys.mac.programmer
in hopes of finding an answer to this small (I can live without MacPaint)
but nagging problem. I know. The answer is to buy a Classic and get
some up to date software but that would take all the fun out of it. :-)

Oh yes. Other applications run fine. MacWrite, MacDraw, MacTerminal,
MultiPlan, Chart all work OK.
