After creating a new KCRH resource, it can be made the current keyboard by installing it in the current system and using the control panel to choose the new keyboard. Making it the keyboard only for specific applications is more difficult. Based on responses to a previous posting and tech note 160(?) it seems that the application must force the new kchr to be loaded. This is unacceptable for my purposes, we don't have the source code. Selecting a different keyboard for some applications is too inconvenient. I want to have specific kchr's active automatically in specific applications and nowhere else. QuicKeys does this somehow, so it can be done. Does anyone know how? Mike

Take care, if you have an application specific KCHR, your application will not work properly on non-US Macs. MacLayers has its own KCHR, and its a pain to use it with a french keyboard (AZERTY).
