Hello! I just bought a Mac Classic and I am having some system trouble with it.What do you Mac experts out there think of the following problem. If you have advice, please respond by email to pda@wdl1.wdl.loral.com. Thanks in advance! Here's the problem: I have a lot of software for my old Plus that died. Some of it won't run on my new Classic, which makes me suspect it. In particular, Sound Edit crashes with an "Unimplemented trap" error, and Falcon (a flight simulator game) crashes with an "address error" error. Furthermore, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel both "unexpectedly quit" from time to time under Multifinder. None of these problems ever occurred with my Plus. What's going on? I believe I've been keeping my software versions pretty up to date. I've demonstated all these problems on a stripped system (with all inits and DA's removed). One thing I suspect is some RAM I added. When I first got the Classic, I added 2 more MBytes I purchased from a mail-order house. The first batch they sent me was bad (the Mac Failed its start up tests ending with a "sad Mac" code that pointed to the added memory). I sent these cards back and got new ones, which pass the Mac startup test, and pass a RAM Checker program I got from sumex-aim. Could it be that the RAM is still bad and causing these problems? I haven't yet removed the memory and tested this mainly because it's so much trouble. So, what do you think I have here? Hardware problem? Software problem? Basic incompatability between the Plus and the Classic(???). Hardware details: Mac Classic 2/40 + 2 1MByte SIMMs Thanks again for any advice you can offer!
