I know this is not really an appropriate place to post this, but I was
wondering if anyone else has had problems typing the word "top" on a
Macintosh. I have noticed that if I type this word quickly, about one
out of ten times I lose the "p". If I notice the missing p before I hit
any other key, then I can pound on the p key as much as I want without
getting a response. Pressing any other key seems to clear the problem.
So, typically you're typing along and you lose a "p" plus the next keystroke
but you don't notice it until you look at it later. At that point, you're
most likely to conclude that your pinky finger is going bad. I have
experienced this problem using several different applications (e.g., MPW,
MS Word) on a variety of Macintoshes, but always with the extended keyboard.
Does anyone else have this problem, or is it just something about the way I
type? If your machine has the same problem, you should be able to see it by
typing: toptoptoptoptoptop quickly, but with a slight pause after each
p. I have also seen this same problem with the sequence "shi" (you can guess
what I was typing...actually it was "shift"). I am posting this not because
it is a particularly significant bug, but because it is so weird. It seems
to have something to do with 2 letters that follow each other in the alphabet,
but the 1st characters seems also to be significant in some way. Any ideas?
Also, is their an e-mail address where apparent bugs should be reported? I
had a friend send this somewhere in the Apple direction, but don't know what
every came of it.
