Hey folks. I work for the coolest radio station in the world, and we'd be even cooler if we didn't have to spend so much time making charts. I want to start putting bar-codes on our records, and use a bar-code reader to put the data into a waiting and willing macintosh. Unfortunately, I don't have a dedicated mac, and I don't think I ever will. We don't even have enough money to buy a cheap IBM. So... Is there any existing software that will take input from a barcode reader and store it on a Mac in the background, while other people are using the Mac for printing, word processing, excel macros, etc., etc.? Or, if there isn't any such software, has anyone here written this kind of background input gathering software, and could they send me their source code? You know I love you. I had some trouble posting this. I hope it doesn't appear twice. -- Alan Aitken Ramaley (415) 497-5265, P. O. Box 9217, Stanford, CA 94309 Senior, Symbolic Systems Aquarius
