I was wondering if anyone out there had any examples for using the drop-launch features of the folder manager and the new finder in System 7. File filters would be nice and drop-folders would be GREAT. -- = Marc Tamsky 6600dtam@ucsbuxa.ucsb.edu 6600dtam@UCSBUXA (bitnet) =

File filters would be nice and drop-folders would be GREAT. A drop folder could be implemented by having an application with an icon that looks like a folder; dropping something on it does the right thing with the thing, while opening it opens the application without argument files, probably making the application display a window with appropriate contents. -- Jon W{tte h+@nada.kth.se - Power !

Drop folders are easy to implement on AppleShare (or Fileshare) volumes. Just give people write access to the folders, but not read. -- Michael Peirce -- outpost!peirce@claris.com -- Peirce Software -- Suite 301, 719 Hibiscus Place -- Macintosh Programming -- San Jose, California 95117 -- & Consulting -- (408) 244-6554, AppleLink: PEIRCE
