I am currently working on a small application scheduled to become a "faceless" background-only program on a IIfx with 7.0. Reading the tech notes, I gathered that I need to use WaitNextEvent to get some computing time from the foreground application. Unfortunately, WaitNextEvent is not covered in Inside Mac vol I to V. So, my questions are: 1) Is WaitNextEvent (and background processing in general) covered in IM. VI? 2) Are there any requirements on the background application (other than calling WaitNextEvent fairly often to let the foreground application do something)? 3) Is there any example of such an application (at least a skeleton that would handle the Suspend/Resume events)? Thanks. Jerome Jerome Plun [] Is it a crime to want something else? jyp@wucs1.wustl.edu [] Is it a crime to believe in something different?
