I just bought the Comm Toolbox Sources, and Basic Connectivity Set. I installed all of the tools into my (Sys 7) system folder. I have MacTCP (and it works with MacIP) but I can't get Surfer to DO anything except allow me to change settings. Before I start trying to do my own coding, I'd like to know that the correct code will work. Thanks, Jim

Surfer works fine for serial line devices with the set of tools that comes with the developers disc (or I assume the basic connectivity set) You didn't get a MacTCP tool in the set, you probably pulled it from another source. I got my MacTCP tool with MacX. The problem is that the MacTCP tool that comes with MacX is NOT a real tool. It doesn't support all the functionality that is needed, it only supports enough functionality for MacX. So, if you are using that tool you can't do anything with it. You need a real MacTCP tool. I don't know of any that are available yet. - |Daryll ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daryll Strauss f The Aerospace Corp. strauss@aero.org n Mail Stop: M1-102 ...!uunet!aero.org!strauss o P.O.
